  • Coronavirus

As more information becomes available regarding confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the United States and our region, we want to remind you Erlanger Health System officials and medical specialists continue to monitor updates and are working closely with county and state health officials in providing education and training to our medical community.

No matter the situation in our communities, medical personnel encourage all residents to continue to communicate with their providers for ongoing care until further information is provided to our patients.

Telemedicine Opportunities Through Erlanger Medical Group
Erlanger Medical Group is taking necessary precautions to protect our patients and staff to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. Effective March 18, 2020, Erlanger Medical Group will be offering telephone or telemedicine opportunities. If you have a scheduled visit and would like to have a phone conversation with your healthcare provider, instead of a face to face visit, please contact your physician’s office to make those arrangements.

What To Do If You Are Sick
If you are experiencing a fever, cough, and respiratory symptoms, please contact your healthcare provider and remain quarantined at home until you are symptom-free to prevent any further spread of the illness.

If you are visiting a physician practice or urgent care facility because of your illness, please call them before you arrive to let them know about your symptoms and receive further instructions. This will ensure all precautionary measures are activated to help protect healthcare providers, patients, and you from contracting or spreading the virus.

If you are experiencing severe symptoms that have become unmanageable at home, seek immediate care as soon as possible.

If you have a medical emergency, call 911.

    Testing Information
Similar to testing for other infectious diseases, such as the flu, the Coronavirus test is not available to the general public on request. Individuals will need an evaluation by their healthcare provider, urgent care center, or emergency room before a test is ordered.

Visitor and Entrance Restrictions And Social Distancing
Be aware that medical facilities have restricted entrances and adjusted visitation policies to protect the health and safety of our patients and staff members. We ask that you please be patient and understand you may be asked to change your plans without notice.

Our medical community also supports efforts to cancel events and large gatherings and encourages the use of social distancing to limit exposure.
